Manchester City Vs Liverpool: Guardiola Will Backup Aguero
Manchester City will face Liverpool in the 4th week of the English Premier League on Saturday (9/9/2017) at Etihad Stadium. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola talks his striker Sergio Aguero for the match.
“I say Aguero will play in a lot of games, sometimes he will not play, I know it is something special if a player is never hit by a rotation,” Guardiola said as quoted by Manchester City official website.
Position Aguero as Manchester City’s main striker has begun to falter since City handled Pep Guardiola. The Spaniard did not always put Aguero right from the start.
Guardiola sometimes installed Gabriel Jesus as the spearhead. Pep’s decision has raised rumors that Aguero will leave Manchester City.
Guardiola said he wanted to rotate players to anticipate the many important matches his team had played. The former Barcelona coach also admitted a lot of changes to the game scheme to accommodate the rotation.
“So sometimes, we decide to play with one striker, sometimes with Gabriel, sometimes with two strikers, sometimes we play with false nine, so Aguero and Gabriel do not play,” Guardiola said.
Although often rotate Aguero, Guardiola ensure that the Argentine striker will still play in many games. “He will be like last season, playing in many games,” Guardiola said.
“I think he will play when fit in 90 percent of the match we have, especially in important games, he is always available,” said Guardiola ended.
